We’re in Kiki!!
This past summer, we had the chance to submit a project how-to from both our Curious Jane and Blue Tree girls, to be included in Kiki magazine’s Feb/March issue. And it has hit the newsstands!
From Curious Jane, we shared “How To Create an Inspiration Board,” the launchpad project for our DIY Fashion class. From Blue Tree, we shared a profile from ‘Zine Scene camper, Janine K., along with examples of some of the mini-zines that came out of the class. The issue is full of lots of other DIY goodies too – check it out!
Now… what to send Kiki? My 10yo daughter (and avid Kiki reader), Eleanor, recently invented a paperclip earring that holds anything you care to wear. It’s such a flexible accessory; you can make a whole collection of artwork and swap out designs to suit your mood on any given day. We decided to make a set for our friends at Kiki, to share our appreciation. I scanned and printed the heart from the magazine’s back cover and made a few other design to go with it. We’re sending them off with lots of other treats to Kiki’s headquarters outside of Cincinatti… With Love… From Brooklyn!
If you know us, then you know how much I love Kiki magazine; true to its tag line, it’s for girls with substance and style. We are so excited to be included… thank you, Kiki!
