We are thrilled to announce CJ Sleepaway, our Curious Jane overnight program! This one-week-only session is designed specifically for girls entering 5th and 6th grades, with the theme “Tell Your Story.”

• Bunk up in the classrooms, shower in the gym, eat in the cafeteria… the school is your home!
• Limited to 16 girls, with 4 staff members

CJ Overnight will be held at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy July 29 to August 4. Springside is an all-girls school, set on a lovely campus, in the beautiful Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. We are taking over three classrooms for our projects and – yes! – our “sleeping bunks.”

For many summers, we have run our day camp, Curious Jane for elementary school girls and our overnight camp, Blue Tree, for teen girls. This summer we are bringing a one-week overnight camp to our tween girls, and we have chosen the theme “Tell Your Story” specifically for this sliver of time in their lives. At this age, girls are transitioning from elementary school to middle school, from day camps to sleep away camps. They are taking on more responsibilities at home and at school, and they are establishing who they are in relation to their peers, their community and the world.

Through this focus, girls will draw out the beautiful threads of their lives and personal stories, look back and give shape to their heritage, and identify their hopes and dreams for the future. They will create physical books as well as approach personal story-telling through abstract projects.

Two classrooms will be cleared of furniture and stocked with cots – with eight girls and two counselors in each. A third large classroom will be the work area for our week of projects. We will also use the grounds, the gym, and the surrounding nature and trails for our activities. All meals are catered through the dining hall, and the connected gymnasium locker rooms offer hot showers daily.

We are a tight group, and we fill the afternoons and evenings with activities that let the girls and counselors get to know each other. This includes exploring outdoors, games in the gym, crafts, evening workshops, movie nights, star-gazing and s’mores, and more!

Our staff stays with them around the clock and the campus has 24-hour security. What happens to a school at night? Only our girls will know! They make it their own space, their own place.

$895 for the week, includes everything!
$125 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your space. Balance due by June 1.

Drop-off Sunday July 29 at 2pm; pick-up Saturday August 4 at 11am.
